"Laura and I worked together over several months, working on everything from the big ideas down to the small details. She adapted extremely well to my design preferences and existing ideas about the remodel. Her work was thorough and helpful at every stage. Remodeling is a work of creativity, and she came up with some of the best ideas in the plan. She has an eye for color and can see how things look when put together.

Overall, I found Laura to be knowledgeable, reasonably priced, and always a pleasure to work with. Having her guidance allowed me to take some bigger risks which I might not have otherwise. That made the difference between a good remodel and a great one. I would recommend her without hesitation." ~KL

"We were delighted to work with Laura who provided design services for the complete remodeling of our master bathroom. From our introductory meeting, it was clear that Laura wasn't the type of designer who would push her vision of what our project should look like. Instead, she listened carefully to our descriptions of what we liked/didn't like with respect to tile, paint, etc. and she returned with truly gorgeous options! Her tile and back splash selections in particular were exceptional and fit our design sense perfectly.

Laura was there for us every step of the way, including accompanying us to the plumbing supply store to select fixtures. She was always available via phone/email, whether to provide advice on paint colors or to place orders for mirrors and lighting fixtures.

We are so pleased to have worked with Laura on our bathroom project and would highly recommend her."

"We engaged Laura to help with the complete remodel of our home. We couldn't have been happier working with her or with the outcome of our project. What sets Laura apart from other designers is her collaborative approach to her work. She took the time to "really" get to know us and what our likes and dislikes were. She never imposed her personal choices on us, but worked patiently to present us with as many choices and options for tile, granite, lighting, paint colors, fabric, etc., as we needed.

Laura is a very trustworthy and dedicated designer . She stayed intimately involved with every phase of our project. She interacted well with all of our subcontractors and made frequent visits to our house to ensure that the work was proceeding as planned . We love our "new'' old home and are very pleased with the help and guidance Laura provided throughout our remodel project."

We embarked on a whole house remodel beginning summer 2017 through early 2018. We engaged Laura Lerond to design several key areas of the remodel and also to ensure that this design would work throughout our home. A key challenge was creating a simple, contemporary and clean look within a town house built with archways, older style railings, and other more traditional features. Another challenge was to utilize and feature stone, metal and wood, particularly materials that were more natural and more interesting.

In the kitchen, Laura created a clean and classy look with light gray cabinets against a simple, large format, porcelain tile backsplash. But the 12" x 24" tiles are laid in a herringbone pattern giving a gorgeous look while providing a functionally easy-to-clean benefit with fewer grout lines. Countertops of black granite with interesting geologic elements provide contrast to the light cabinets. A desk area across from the kitchen is functional without interrupting the look and feel of the kitchen as a whole. The desk wall is highlighted by a custom, live-edge display shelf, which also adds warmth and interest.

In the living room, we asked Laura to convert a boring fireplace with oversized mantel and traditional arched shelving into a [contemporary] feature wall better fitting our tastes. Laura delivered with a design that featured gorgeous gray, black and silver tiles (which we never would have found on our own) and metal trim interspersing the plane of tile from floor to ceiling plus light ebony-stained cabinets. Laura then took us rug-shopping to find the perfect Indian woven rug to tie into the feature wall and our furniture.

In the master bedroom, we wanted to transform a wall that had two small overflow closets on either side of an oversized fireplace. Laura designed his and her built-in armoires in place of the closets. And by replacing an awkward "TV hole" over the fireplace with bookcases, the fireplace was minimized and this gorgeous wall is filled with function. Light travertine tiles surrounding the fireplace, a smaller mantel, and complementary paint color choices successfully transformed the bedroom into a warm, comfortable and functional bedroom. Laura similarly brought the master bathroom to light including tile selection and design, paint selections, and mirror design.

Not only do we love these and other design elements Laura created for our home, it was a pleasure to work with her. She has a great design eye and we found ourselves wanting her opinion on everything, right down to which artwork to hang in which locations. She was flexible in when and how to use her expertise. We would definitely work with Laura again.
